Well
here we go with protests in the streets.........at my age this
something new to participate in but I've seen it done during the
sixties so I think I have a grasp of the concept....lol
Anyway
some questions have been posed to me and I've decide to answer them.
The most often asked question is this: "Where were all of these people
during the past years?"
Well here is my answer:
For the last 8 years a lot of people attempted to work within the present system to effect change. Most were also distracted by an attack on the country which was used by both political parties for power gains.
The previous Administration along with Congress started the process of
people reacting to them not listening. I know dozens of Republicans who received numerous "surveys" from the Republican party, containing ridiculous questions, asking for money and sent them back without answering the questions and no donation to the party. Quite a few of them wrote in bold letters across the "survey" telling the party to start doing the right thing or pay the price at the ballot box. The Republican party was punished at the ballot box in 2006 & 2008 for not listening to the people who elected them on illegal immigration and
out of control spending.
At this point in time people from the conservative side of thinking have run out of options at the ballot box so they are taking to the streets. People from the liberal side of thinking are starting to realize that they have been used by people elected to office just as the conservatives were in the previous elections.
The present Administration along with congress are not liberal at all in their thinking and governing. They are more authoritarian then anything else and for a true liberal that is the very antithesis of liberal thinking. Once again these people are also seeing themselves as out of options so they too have taken to the streets.
All Americans see the government as becoming too powerful and having too much control of their lives so they are starting to follow the old lexicon of "The enemy of my enemy is my friend" and banding together to fight against what is happening.
I spent 4 hours talking to people of all different walks of life and political persuasions yesterday. It was very inspiring! I guess I just love Americans..!
All
the "TEA" parties have one thing in common and it is the fundamental
basis for the growth of this movement. It is the thing that makes these
rallies non partisan and easy for people of all walks of life to
participate in.
The basis for the rallies is the 545 people in
Washington, along with all the politicians who have been elected in the
fifty states who do not adhere to the Founding Documents of this nation
and its member states.
With this phrase: "We hold these truths
to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are
endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among
these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness " the Founding
Fathers created a society different from any the world had ever seen.
Prior to the founding of this nation there were no citizens of any
nation on earth.......there were only subjects.(Look it up)
It
has nothing to do with the present administration, though the
combination of Whitehouse, House, & Senate have in the last few
months probably legislated a few things that have sparked an already
growing discontent among our citizens. Possibly the best thing that
could happen since it has awakened the people and this movement is
growing.
For the last 100 years or so the people elected to
office have sought to circumvent the limits placed on them by our US
& State Constitutions.........the people are finally waking up and
realizing that the nation we all have grown to love is being taken in a
direction far from the ideals the Founders had envisioned..
Anyone
who can't see this is either ignorant or has an agenda to actually
change the fundamentals of the nation........In other words we have a
lot of "useful idiots" amongst the citizenry.....Those in Washington
who seek to take the country away from our American principles have an
agenda, ignorance is no excuse for them.
These rallies instead
of being something to forward the cause any particular political party
as some have claimed are in fact somewhat inspired by the fact that the
parties have not represented the interest of the people. The people are
sick and tired of the usual process of having to choose from the lesser
of two evils when they go to vote.
We all as Americans need to
drop the labels of "Republicans" & "Democrats" and go back to being
Americans.......Read our Founding Documents, read the Federalist
Papers, & read about the Founding Fathers.
Gain an
understanding of how and why the country was founded. Decide whether or
not people were better off before the Liberty & Freedom the
Founders sought to guarantee to all people. Then decide if you want to
be a part of the brightest light the world has ever witnessed or if in
fact you want to participate in extinguishing that light.
Whatever you decide remember the political parties have one objective......power.......don't let yourselves be used by them.
The
bottom line is this, do we want to be citizens or subjects? The answer
to that question should make it obvious to us all what we need to do.
